The newspaper “Al-Youm Al-Sabe’a” revealed that the Egyptian Football Association has settled in order to activate the decision to reduce foreign players in the post-football season 2021-2022, so that the number of foreign players in the ranks of each club is limited to three players only.
The Egyptian newspaper relied in its report on the statements of the Egyptian Football Association officials, during which they affirmed the delay in activating the decision to reduce foreigners to the 2021-2022 season, after it was scheduled to be implemented starting from the new season 2020-2021.
The newspaper said, “The decision was to be activated starting from the new season, in response to the clubs’ demands to reduce foreign players, until the recent consultations conducted by the Five-Year Committee in the Football Association indicated that most clubs will not be able to obtain the time to market The surplus of its foreign players, and thus incurring heavy financial losses, which required the Football Association, to postpone the activation of the decision to the next season 2021-2022.
The newspaper pointed out that: “The Egyptian Football Association will maintain during the new season the decision to consider one player from North Africa or Syria and Palestine as a local player, along with 4 other foreigners, so that every team has the right to register 5 foreigners in the 2020-2021 season, before That the number be reduced to only three beginning in the following season. ”
