“Sharjah Sports” discusses joint cooperation with “Sharjah for Innovation”

The Sharjah Sports Council discussed ways of joint cooperation and opportunities for developing sports investment, research and forward-looking practical studies with the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, during the coordination meeting held between the two parties at the Society’s headquarters last Thursday, to discuss relevant issues in a way that serves the council’s goals and the strategic plan and enhances the areas of sports investment and opening Prospects.

The meeting was attended by HE Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, Hussain Muhammad Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the complex, Dr. Abdullah Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, Chairman of the Strategic Foresight Committee, and Abdullah Sultan Al Dah, Chairman of the Investment Committee, along with Abdul Rahman Al Serkal, a project executive in the complex.

His Excellency Hussain Muhammad Al Mahmoudi welcomed the delegation of the Council, praising its great role and its eagerness to cooperate with the complex and discuss opportunities for investment development. Work and develop innovation opportunities for international and local companies and support students in transforming ideas into reality through marketing the product locally and internationally.

He reviewed the priorities on which the work plans are based in the complex to achieve a qualitative leap in the knowledge investment environment in the region, in addition to transferring and localizing knowledge with the aim of enabling the citizen to invest in future technological sectors, as well as the most important investments that the complex incubates and its future plans.

Al-Mahmoudi confirmed that the complex’s capabilities are under the service of the Sharjah Sports Council, and all support will be provided to it to achieve its goals and the importance of great cooperation between the two sides, as the complex issued a report on economic innovation and the realization of knowledge concepts and presented a copy of it to the council’s delegation, indicating that the complex will continue to communicate during the next period to implement plans The joint to be set between the two parties.

In his turn, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al-Hazami indicated that this meeting comes within the objectives of the Council to communicate with various governmental bodies and institutions, consolidate relations and open areas of joint cooperation in accordance with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and to follow up His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council.

His Excellency added that this visit came to address many points of interest to both parties and to discuss the possibility of launching a joint investment project between the two parties, applying the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in the sports field and linking it to research and scientific institutions in a way that reflects on sports and its development on the basis that the Council has set among its objectives the creation of projects for accelerators The future and finding investment projects that achieve a kind of self-financing for the council and linking the future foresight part with the investment side. The council directs in this regard with the complex and works to achieve the goals of the strategic plan.

Al-Hazami stressed that among the council’s initiatives and goals is the creation of an electronic platform for future sports accelerators, which have been working on for some time and there are many ideas such as the “Sultan bin Muhammad Chair for Future Sports Outlook”, which is a research chair that was presented by His Excellency Ahmed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Club. For self-defense, and work is being done to develop it through the Council’s Strategic Advisory Committee and to transfer it to the Study and Research Committee to be discussed and presented to the Board of Directors.

Al-Hezami concluded his speech, “We will continue to communicate and cooperate with the Academy and hold various meetings, workshops and projects that benefit the two parties in a way that achieves mutual benefit within the framework of the Council’s endeavor through its permanent committees such as strategic foresight, studies and research to come up with useful ideas that benefit both parties and develop visions for the future work plan.
