The Sharjah Sports Council met with the Educational Center for the Gulf States in the University City under the chairmanship of His Excellency Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Deputy HE Abdul Malik Jani and members of the Board of Directors, for the second time, to discuss the development of sports in Sharjah, and to focus on nurturing talented people and developing women’s sport in addition to many other topics.
The members of the Board of Directors visited the Educational Center for the Gulf States to see its services and facilities.
The members of the Board of Directors approved the formation of the permanent committees after distributing the administrative portfolios at the first meeting, choosing a chair for each committee, in addition to discussing the file of the Gifted Care Program, and choosing Abdul Malik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Board to be the Chairman of the Gifted Care Program, and the meeting discussed the mechanism for activating the Sports Committee The woman headed by HE Nada Askar Al-Naqbi as one of the means of developing women’s sport in the emirate.
Dr. Abdullah Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, Chairman of the Strategic Foresight Committee, gave a presentation on the Sharjah Sports Strategy for the benefit of sports in the emirate, implementing the strategic plan according to the required standards professionally, and achieving international best practices and according to the council’s vision, in addition to submitting a proposal from His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al-Dah, Chairman The Sports Investment and Marketing Committee to establish a private company under the council’s umbrella that manages the sports marketing and investment affairs for the council in addition to providing advice and assistance to clubs in the emirate.
Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Council, confirmed that we seek to work on development initiatives and projects that contribute to advancing the sport in the emirate in general and translating the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chair The Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council.
Al-Khuzami added: “Since the announcement of the new formation of the Board of Directors, plans and programs have been set up, and members of the committees have been formed to work side by side on the elevation of sport in the emirate, in confirmation of its great position, support and unlimited interest, and the implementation of future projects, and the aspirations that the Council and its clubs aspire to, in coordination and communication with the authorities and institutions. We have started with successful meetings and workshops with the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex as one of the projects aimed at activating the strategic aspect, investment and sports marketing. “
