The General Authority for Food and Drugs said that the meat taken from the carcass differs from the time of keeping each of them to the other, and that there is a difference in the period between keeping it in the refrigerator or freezer.

She explained that meat can be preserved as follows:

  • Meat pieces are kept for 3-5 days in the refrigerator and 4-6 months in the freezer.

  • Steak: 3-5 days in the fridge and 6-12 months in the freezer.

  • Minced meat: 1-2 days in the refrigerator and 3-4 months in the freezer.

  • Tongue, Kidney, Liver and Heart: 1-2 days in the refrigerator and 3-4 months in the freezer.

  • Cooked meat: 3-4 days in the refrigerator and 2-3 months in the freezer.
