The Italian team, Juventus, bade farewell to the European Champions League from the round of 16, despite its victory over its French team Lyon, 2-1, in the second leg that brought the two teams together on Friday evening, at the “Allianz Stadium”, in the tournament that returned to its competitions. The first leg, which was held in Lyon on February 26, ended with the victory of the French team, with a goal, scored by Lucas Touzart.
A positive equalizer, 1 – 1, dominated the first half of the match. It was Lyon who started scoring, through Dutch star Memphis Depay, in the 12th minute, through a penalty kick.
But the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, managed to score a draw for Juventus, in the 43rd minute, through a penalty kick as well, and broke the record for the number of goals in one season for the Juventus team, and Ronaldo reached the 36th goal this season in various competitions in a number that no Juventus player has reached from Before.
In the second half, Ronaldo returned to score the second Juventus goal, in the 60th minute, with a missile shot. The French Lyon goalkeeper failed to address it, reaching the 130th goal in the history of the competition, boosting his record.
French Lyon faces Manchester City, who overtook Real Madrid, in the quarter-finals, on Saturday, August 15th, in Lisbon, Portugal.
