French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to accelerate the implementation of the “Riyadh Agreement” between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council.
The French Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Minister Laudrian expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom’s efforts in implementing the “Riyadh Agreement”.
He pointed out that a comprehensive political solution is the only one to end the conflict in Yemen.
On Thursday in Paris, Jean-Yves Laudrian received the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, and the two ministers stressed the importance of deepening bilateral relations between France and Saudi Arabia.
Concerning the Libyan file, Ludryan insisted on the urgent need to reduce escalation, a political solution and an end to foreign interference.
On the Palestinian issue, the French diplomat stressed the risks of partial annexation of the West Bank, and stressed the importance of collective mobilization of European Union member states with Arab countries.
As for the Iranian file, the French minister stressed the need to find realistic and effective solutions to the challenges raised by the possibility of ending the United Nations embargo on transfers of conventional weapons to Iran, for regional security and stability.
