Italian Ciro Imobelli, Lazio’s top scorer, has won the Italian League’s top scorer and golden shoe for European Leagues with 36 goals.

Lazio ended its season in the Italian league on Saturday with a loss from Naples 1-3, and Imobili scored Lazio’s only goal to equal Gonzalo Higuain’s number more than he scored in one season in the Italian league. The Italian League concludes its season today, but Imobili clinched the title in his favor after the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo did not play with Juventus in his loss from Rome to end the season with 31 goals, and was succeeded by Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku, the Inter player with 23 goals.

Imobili won the Italian league’s top scorer for the third time after crowning him in the 2013-14 season with the title with 22 goals and his participation with Mauro Icardi in the 2017-18 season with 29 goals each.

By crowning the Italian league’s top scorer with 36 goals, the Italian international has surpassed Polish player Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich’s top scorer, who scored 34 goals last season.

Ciro clinched the golden shoe title of Europe’s top scorer, becoming the first Italian to win the title since Francesco Totti, the former Roma player who won the 2006-07 season.

From Totti’s victory until last season, a La Liga player won or shared the title with another. Lionel Messi has dominated the title for the past three years and Barcelona’s captain is the only player to have crowned the title 6 times.
