Bellingham is the most expensive young player in the world, after Dortmund was able to get his services during the summer transfer window for 25 million euros, after a competition with Manchester United.
Bellingham is only 17 years old, meaning that he is still too young to shine a spotlight on him in this way, leaving questions about how to deal with him and how he will make him face the expected pressures.
Those questions were answered by Sebastian Kehl, head of the player licensing division at the Borussia Dortmund club, who advised the technical staff of the team, led by Swiss Lucien Favre.
Kehl believes that the training team for Dortmund should deal gently with the preparation period for Judy Bellingham, especially since his transfer to the German team, surrounded by a sensation of media.
Kehl stressed that the player should not be overburdened during the preparation period for the new season, given that he did not have a sufficient rest period.
“(Bellingham) went through a very long year, which was not easy for him, and for this, the technical staff must deal with him in particular and compensate him during the preparation period,” Kehl said in statements to Al-Nadi TV.
It is noteworthy that Bellingham continued to play for Birmingham City until mid-July, before officially moving to Dortmund.
Dortmund is expected to resume training on Monday, after players underwent two tests to detect new infections from the Corona virus.
