Hezbollah announces the downing of an Israeli drone that penetrated Lebanese airspace

Hezbollah announced Saturday that it had shot down an Israeli drone that penetrated Lebanese airspace, saying it was in the custody of its fighters. In a statement, Hezbollah said that the Islamic Resistance had shot down an Israeli drone near the town of Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon. The authority added that the Israeli drone “is in the custody of the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance.”

For his part, the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adrai, confirmed on his Twitter account that an Israeli drone had fallen on Lebanese territory. “Earlier today, during the operational activity of a military force on the border with Lebanon, a military drone fell inside Lebanese territory. There is no fear of information leakage,” Avichai wrote.

The Israeli-Lebanese border area is witnessing significant tension after the killing of the Lebanese “Hezbollah” member, Ali Kamel Mohsen, by the Israeli raid on July 20, which targeted a military site near Damascus International Airport in Syria.
