“France TV” network plans to organize a charity party, the proceeds of which will go to those affected by the bloody explosion, which hit large parts of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, as the official French television group announced, confirming information published by “Le Parisien” newspaper.
“Lebanon is going through a terrible ordeal,” the group’s director, Delphine Earnott, told the newspaper. France TV channels stand with the artists, to organize a huge party of support and solidarity for the benefit of Lebanon and its afflicted people.
The artistic management of the concert will be undertaken by the Lebanese-French trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, and will bring together artists from France, Lebanon and around the world, and will allow the collection of donations for the reconstruction of the Lebanese capital.
Among the names that have been announced to participate in the concert are the singers: Matteo Shadid and Bernard Lavillier.
The explosion, which occurred in the Beirut port, caused the death of more than 160 people, the injury of more than 6000 others, and the displacement of about 300 thousand from their homes.
“Beyond our mission as a public services organization, it is also intended to show our brothers with the Lebanese people afflicted by a torrent of tragedies,” the Delphin Airnote Group added.
The ceremony will take place at a date yet to be determined, and will be broadcast on France 2 and France Inter radio.
