Napoli is visiting Barcelona next Saturday, in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.
“I can only monitor Messi in my dreams,” Gattuso said in joking remarks carried by the Spanish newspaper “AS” in response to a question about Messi.
“Or if my son’s playstation game started, and I chose Napoli to face Barcelona. I had previously tried to stop him while I was a Milan player when I was 10 or 15 kg less than now.”
On facing Barcelona after beating fourth-placed Lazio in Serie A, Gattuso said, “I think they are two teams in two completely different ways of playing.”
“Lazio combines both planning and physical skills, but in Barcelona it is all about quality. I think it will be a completely different match, we will not have to think about scoring or not,” he explained.
“We have to play as a team, to have confidence in our chances of success. We will be on an adventure, and we must play with a clear mind to express our capabilities,” he continued.
And on Lorenzo Insini’s readiness to meet, Gattuso continued, “Insini spoke to the doctor, and we will assess the matter within the next 48 hours after getting the results of the tests. The injury is not serious, I think.”
Barcelona tied with Napoli with a goal for each team in the first leg in Naples, and the Italian team needs to win back or draw with a score greater than one goal for each team to qualify for the next round.
