Divorce cases increased 30 times in Saudi Arabia after the curfew was lifted

Divorce cases in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia increased from 134 in the last month of Shaaban, with the start of the curfew, due to the spread of the Corona virus, to 4,079 cases in Dhu al-Qi’dah, with the end of the ban. According to the electronic harmony newspaper.

The monthly data issued by the Saudi Ministry of Justice revealed that 53% of the total divorce certificates during the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah were issued in the regions of Riyadh and Makkah, as their daily number in all regions of the Kingdom ranged between 117 and 289 sukuk.

During the last Hijri year, the number of monthly divorce certificates ranged from a minimum of 134 to a maximum of 7,500.

On the other hand, the number of marriage contracts for the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah amounted to more than 19,000, an increase of 47% of the marriage contracts issued in the same month of 1440, and marriage contracts whose parties are Saudi nationals represented 94%, 38% of which were in Makkah and Riyadh. The number of marriage contracts issued daily ranged between 495 and 1304 contracts.
