Bayern Munich will face Schalke in the opening match of the season, but if the Bavarian team qualifies for the final of the UEFA Champions League scheduled for August 23, it will give a few more days to rest and prepare, the German Bundesliga said on Friday.
Borussia Dortmund will start the season with a confrontation with Borussia Moenchengladbach.
The winter holidays for the tournament will be shorter than usual, as the holiday will start on December 21 and end on January 2, in line with the commitments of the country’s national team and the European club championship program.
In the past, the German Bundesliga winter break lasted for up to 6 weeks.
The German league matches were suspended for two months last season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, before resuming in May and the season ending in June.
The German Super Cup match will take place between Bayern Munich, double and Prussia Dortmund, and the league champion’s summer on September 30.
The League is working on arrangements to allow a limited number of audiences to attend at the start of the new season.
The German government banned public attendance at all major events until October 31.
