Countries that are creative in tackling the Corona virus … Do you live in one of them?

Six months after the World Health Organization declared an international emergency to cope with the outbreak of the emerging coronavirus, “Sars Cove 2”, which causes Covid 19, countries have achieved great successes in their response to the disease. Do you live in one of them?

Here we present to you these distinguished experiences in addressing the Corona epidemic:

Qatar has developed a comprehensive national plan to tackle the Corona virus, which made it get the first place in the Gulf in terms of recovery, due to early detection efforts, examination of all contacts, and expansion of health facilities.

The Statistical Center of the Gulf Cooperation Council states put Qatar first in the list of the most cured countries from Corona, with 81% of the confirmed cases, and the Gulf states combined achieved 72% of the total confirmed cases, compared to countries in the world where the cure rate in some of them reached 50% .

The Ministry of Public Health says that Qatar is one of the lowest countries in the world in the corona virus death rate for several reasons, including providing the health sector with high-quality care for people living with the Corona virus, providing proactive checks to identify infected cases early, and raising the capacity of hospitals, especially intensive care units to ensure that All patients take the necessary care and work to protect the elderly and those with chronic diseases from the risk of contracting the Coronavirus.

And the return of Doha to the first position in the Gulf in the rate of recovery is due to the great efforts made by the state in the health sector, and the continuous continuity in developing this sector to reach the highest international ranks.

Turkey’s handling of the Coruna epidemic has received praise from the World Health Organization and many of the world’s presidents and leaders, in light of its extensive experience in crisis management, both domestic and international.

Corona’s crisis management was distinguished by many things, including the existence of a strong health infrastructure, as there are an adequate number of doctors and health workers, and today there are 165 thousand doctors working in the Ministry of Health, university hospitals and the private sector, along with 205 thousand nurses, and 360 thousand individuals Support.

On January 6, Turkey launched an operations center and a scientific committee to study the virus, prepared a guide on it, and then began examinations for arrivals from endemic countries, and on February 3 it stopped flights to and from China, and set up field hospitals on the border with neighboring countries, and on 23 of The same month the border with Iran was closed, and on 29 of that month it suspended flights with Italy.

Turkey has maintained – through actions commensurate with the threat of the virus – relatively containing it, and at the same time continuing the wheel of the economy, and provided food and basic needs without causing confusion, but rather raised the level of morale for its citizens, and instead of being a recipient of aid, Ankara directed aid to more than 17 A country headed by Italy and Spain.

South Korea

This country has witnessed several special measures to combat the outbreak of the Corona virus, where the local authorities in various cities of the country enabled citizens to conduct the necessary checks and tests while on the road and without dismounting their cars, as they pass through four checkpoints dedicated to the various stages of examination, from a questionnaire containing a number of questions On the health of the citizen and his movements, internal and external, to measure the temperature, take a sample from the depths of his nose, and then analyze.

Also installed at the entrances to the official headquarters and other small rooms to sterilize those who enter the buildings, in addition to sterilizing streets and public transport continuously.

These intensive measures allowed hundreds of thousands of Koreans to be examined in a short time, and this method, which was different from what most countries had adopted, enabled the government to contain the epidemic.

Rapid measures and advanced technology have helped this east African country reduce the number of cases of corona to 1,900 cases.

The authorities quickly imposed a strict closure in March, just a few days after the first case was recorded. It closed its borders, suspended flights, restricted domestic travel and imposed a curfew at night.

President Paul Kagame told citizens that “difficult decisions” must be taken and mandatory measures should be made to wear masks, social divergence and regular hand-washing.

The authorities announced the instructions daily via loudspeakers installed on cars and drones, while the heavy police presence and the imposition of fines on violators secured compliance.

Rwanda has also deployed high-tech robots to help control the spread of corona in hospitals. The robots check temperatures, provide food and medicine, and monitor whether people do not wear masks.

In January, Thailand became the first country outside China to report a case of corona to a traveler coming from the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the new virus was first discovered late last year.

The government quickly adopted a number of similar measures to Rwanda. Most Thais were already accustomed to wearing masks due to dangerous air pollution levels in many parts of the country.

Another reason that was considered a factor for low rates of corona infection is that the Thais do not exchange arms and do not shake hands, but live each other by pressing the palm of one hand over the palm of the other hand.

Taoysin Vesanoyotin, spokesman for the Corona Action Team, said changing mentalities in relation to the virus through daily press conferences is a major reason for the country’s success. Thailand has not recorded internal injuries since late May.

In addition to the early embargo on travel and closures, the state imposed quarantine on tens of thousands, and issued strict measures to track and examine contacts.

These measures, together with the highest prevalence of confirmed cases in the entire world at one point, helped Vietnam to avoid many injuries.

However, fears increased from a second wave of the virus outbreak late this month.

New Zealand

Microbiologist Seoxi Wells stated that clear and consistent communication with the people was a large part of New Zealand’s success. She added that choosing specific words such as “bubbles” to explain social divergence, and using expressions to reduce stigmatization of the injured were helpful.

“The officials were very keen to make sure that it was not portrayed as a war against Corona, but rather with teamwork and assistance to each other,” she said.
