The future of Croatian star Ivan Rakitic, Barcelona’s midfielder, is shrouded in mystery during the summer Mercato period.
Rakitic’s name was associated with leaving Barcelona. Because of its relatively low results, it seems that the club’s management made a decision about its future, in appreciation of his long career with the team.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, the Barcelona administration plans to give Rakitic a chance to fulfill his dream of retiring in Seville, his former team.
The newspaper pointed out that Barcelona agreed to the departure of Rakitic, the 32-year-old, for only 10 million euros, to fulfill his dream of retiring in Seville.
It is noteworthy that Rakitic has moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2014, coming from Seville, for 18 million euros, and his current contract with Barcelona is extending until June 2021.
Ivan Rakitic participated with Barcelona in 309 games, during which he scored 35 goals and made 41 others.
Rakitic also crowned Barcelona with the UEFA Champions League, 4 La Liga, 4 Spanish Cups, 3 Spanish Super Cups, 2 Club World Cups and 2 European Super Cups.
