The US police said that a third night of street protests to condemn the police shooting of a violent black man late yesterday and early in the morning yesterday, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, killing two people and wounding one.
Videos on social media showed chaotic scenes of people running and screaming in the shadow of a barrage of bullets, and others treating gunshot wounds.
This comes on the heels of a night of skirmishes that were apparently finally calm after police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters who defied a curfew.
A statement by the Kenosha Police Department stated that the shooting resulted in the death of two persons and the wounding of a third, which is expected not to lead to death.
The city of Kenosha has been ravaged by protests since last Sunday, when the police shot Jacob Blake in the back at close range, while he was moving away from two policemen and opening his car door, as shown in a video filmed by a pedestrian, and spread on social media.
