The Saudi Electricity Company announced that it has trained nearly 1,000 safety representatives in boys and girls ’schools over the past two years, as part of its social responsibility programs.
The company explained that the “Safety in Schools” program is one of the most important ongoing programs that it focuses on, especially as it includes providing courses, visits and campaigns, to raise awareness among all segments of society, by providing simple scientific material for non-safety professionals, explained by safety trainers The courses focus on several axes, most notably: the concept of safety, the basics of firefighting, and the evacuation plan, as well as the basics of occupational safety and health, the safety management system, risks and how to define them.
The courses offered by “Saudi Electricity” aim to raise awareness of the importance of safety and risk management, in addition to making use of safety representatives to build a conscious generation of male and female students, aware of the importance of electrical safety in schools, and the risks entailed in the event of non-compliance.
During the past two years, the “Saudi Electricity” launched its “Safety in Schools” program for training in boys ‘and girls’ schools, in three stages, in which safety representatives in the Ministry of Education were targeted in all schools, in various Saudi cities.
It is worth noting that these training programs come on the basis of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Education and the company, to spread and enhance the safety culture, which includes workshops for safety professionals from the Ministry of Education, launching the Safety Ambassador program for students in schools, carrying out visits to a number of schools, and providing awareness activities, In addition to a competition in the field of safety targeting various stages.
