Legendary American boxer Mike Tyson, the world’s youngest heavyweight champion, is negotiating with fellow Roy Jones, who also holds Russian citizenship, for a fight between them this year.
The Russian news agency “TASS” quoted a source close to the negotiations as saying: “Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. are negotiating a dispute between them.”
It is expected that the match will be held, in September, in the United States of America, and will consist of 8 rounds, but the weight category has not yet been determined.
It is reported that Tyson, nicknamed “Iron Man”, announced earlier that he might return to boxing arenas to take part in show parades of three or four rounds for charitable purposes, after he ended his professional career in 2005, during which he won 50 victories, compared to Six defeats.
Mike Tyson, 54, became the youngest heavyweight champion of all time in the sport of “noble art” after defeating Trevor Berbick in 1986 at the age of 20, and the first heavyweight boxer to win the World Boxing Association, the World Boxing Council, and the International Boxing Federation.
As for Roy Jones Junior (50 years old), the world champion, the former driver, put an end to his professional career in 2018, during which he won 66 victories, including 47 by knockout, compared to 9 defeats.
