The Iranian state television “Press TV” said that a huge fire occurred in a power plant in southwestern Iran and was controlled two hours later as a result of decisive efforts by local civil defense elements.
The Iranian channel indicated that this explosion comes at a time when Iran is witnessing “very high temperatures”, it quoted.
Iran had witnessed a separate incident on Saturday in the southeastern city of Mahshahr in the oil-rich Khuzestan province, at a petrochemical center, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
A chlorine gas leak was detected, after which a number of workers at the facility were hospitalized, and the agency stated that the accident occurred at four and 45 minutes local time in Iran.
These accidents came two days after a fire broke out in a building at the Iranian Natanz nuclear complex on the morning of Thursday, which resulted in severe damage to the building, which is essential for the uranium enrichment program for the Iranian government.
