He pointed out that the field monitoring team in Jeddah’s fish wealth unit managed on the ministry boat in the “Thuwal Center” to extract a number of irregular fishing tools of the Sakhawi type (kraqir), and work is under way to complete the regular procedures regarding the destruction.

In Rabigh governorate, Al-Ghamdi indicated that “8 citizens and 3 residents” violating the fishing system were arrested, and they possessed 27 illegal fishing networks (Al-Ashoura), in cooperation with the border guards in Rabigh Governorate represented by Marsa Al-Sarj, Al-Kharar Point, Al-surface, and Mastoura Center.

Al-Ghamdi affirmed the continuation and intensification of control tours to reduce violations of the region’s fisheries system in order to preserve the living water resources.

For his part, Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Director of the Fish Wealth Unit in Jeddah, confirmed that the violating tools had been confiscated, and procedures had been completed with the violators according to the rules and regulations, and they would be destroyed according to the system followed in such cases.
