The Saudi Football Association issued a decision appointing Swiss Manuel Navarro as director of the Referees Department.

The decision to appoint the Swiss succeeds the Briton Jacob Coleen, who was appointed director of VAR technology until the end of his contract.

This step comes to achieve the use of the best talents in the system of referees, and because of Navarro’s practical experiences throughout his career in the field of arbitration.

Manuel has held a number of positions, most notably the Deputy Director of Referees and Director of VAR Technology and Development of the Football Association, in addition to his work on developing referees and lecturers, and supervising the referees of the World Cup 2014 and 2018.

The Swiss Navarro worked during his career as a referee and co-managed 60 international matches during the period from 2006 to 2012, and contributed to the management of 240 games in the Swiss league.
