BRUSSELS – – (dpa) – European Union leaders who met in Brussels for the second day are close to reaching an agreement for a stimulus package worth 750 billion euros (860 billion dollars) after the Dutch government indicated support for the trend Negotiations are in progress, Bloomberg News reported.

A Dutch official familiar with the talks, who asked not to be identified, said that a new proposal was unveiled on Saturday, and that the proposal would keep the total size of the fund as it is while reducing the amount distributed as grants by 50 billion euros, which is a big step in the right direction according to Administrator.

The new plan will see the payment of 450 billion euros in grants and a European Union official said it has great support among officials.

“Things are going well, moving in the right direction. Of course, it is an unresolved battle and intense negotiations as expected,” Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz told reporters in Brussels on Saturday.
