Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv today, Saturday, to express their anger at the “incompetent government response” to the economic damage inflicted on them during the emerging Corona virus crisis.
In compliance with the restrictions imposed on public gatherings, the police limited the number of people allowed to enter Rabin Square in Tel Aviv to participate in the gathering after the nearby streets were filled with protesters wearing masks.
“I have 40 workers with no income and no money,” said Michel Gest-Kasif, vice president of a sound and light company.
“We need the government to pump money until we return to normal life,” he added.
Israeli media reported that thousands attended the gathering.
The authorities did not specify the number of protesters.
