Starting with version 10.45 of the Google Maps application, a slightly updated interface appears while using the application through the standalone Android Auto application. The new update brings with it a few updated buttons and more floating flags and menus.
According to a report from the Android Police website, directions and signs on the go are now round in shape and taking up less space allowing you to see a portion of the map at the back. At the same time, the update makes navigation in the horizontal position better. The instructions do not consume screen length and pop up the settings menu will not cover the entire screen.
The standalone Android Auto app was supposed to get rid of in favor of the in-car experience. Instead, the app is displayed in the Google Play Store and anyone can download it to try Android Auto without having to buy a car entertainment system.
