For the first time since the isolation ended in Spain, the country on Sunday re-imposed a home quarantine on more than 200,000 people in the Catalonia region (northeast), aiming to stem the high number of new infections from the Corona virus.
This country, one of the most affected European countries, has recorded more than 28,400 deaths from the epidemic.
As for Ireland, which was due to reopen its pubs completely on Monday, it postponed the implementation of the last stage of lifting the closure measures until August 10, and putting masks will be compulsory in stores.
European Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides expressed concern about “the interaction of seasonal influenza with Covid-19”.
“The recurrence of the outbreak is increasingly being reported in many member countries. Urbanization is essential, especially before the fall and winter months,” she warned.
One of the side effects of the epidemic is the decrease in the number of children vaccinated around the world, which paves the way for the return of other diseases, which is worrisome, according to the United Nations.
