The technology giant, the American company “Google”, decided to cancel the commission it gets from retailers in exchange for registering their goods through its e-commerce platform “BayWiz Google”, in light of its challenge to the control of the company “Amazon” on the e-commerce market.
In the past, Google imposed a commission on companies in exchange for registering their goods on the application “PayWiz Google” for electronic shopping, which allows buying through Google instead of going to an external online store, from 10 to 15% of the value of sales compared to “Amazon” prices.
The newspaper “Emirates Today” quoted the German news agency that the apparent goal of Google’s move is to strengthen its e-shopping service by attracting sellers to register their goods on the “Pay with Google” platform and other platforms.
Google Commerce President Bill Reddy noted that canceling the commission means removing a major obstacle for traders joining the shopping platform because it eliminates the recurrence of the commission “now they can join the platform easily.”
It is expected that consumers benefit from this step by increasing the number of offered goods and products that they can see while searching on Google, in which case Google can try to persuade sellers to post paid ads on its platform.
