The two cars are identical from a technical perspective, but in terms of design, each has its own specifications that cannot be missed: Audi presented through the Audi Q4 e-tron pilot that was presented to visitors at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 2019, a first idea of the first compact electric SUV produced by it The company. Audi is introducing the Q4 Sportback e-tron as the second model to enter the production line in 2021 to join the SUV coupé.
This news would give future Q4 customers an opportunity to think about the model they prefer almost a year before the first car is delivered: the power and flexibility of a classic SUV or the elegance and dynamism of the Coupé. The dimensions of the Q4 models are almost identical, with the Sportback exterior being 4.60 meters long and 1.60 meters high, and thus longer by 1 cm and flatter. The two models are also identical in width, with a width of 1.90 meters and a wheelbase length of 2.77 meters.
The two cars provide a clear overview of the top engine in this class that will enter the production line, and both are equipped with the same technologies in the transmission system. The test cars come with two electric motors with a capacity of 225 kW. Like the cars produced by Audi, the momentum of the test vehicle is based on the quattro four-wheel drive system while driving. Thanks to superior traction, both Q4 cars accelerate from sleep to 100 km / h in only 6.3 seconds, and reach the maximum electronically specified speed of 180 km / h.
A large battery with a capacity of 82 kW occupies almost the entire area at the bottom of the chassis between the axles. The distance covered by the car exceeds 450 km – according to the Worldwide Standard Light Vehicle Test (WLTP) – a distance that sets new standards in the world of cars, while the distance covered by the rear-wheel drive will exceed 500 km according to the same test. The standard electric platform (MEB) controls the electrical system of the Q4 e-tron pilot, the platform that the Volkswagen Group will use in the structure of several electric vehicles in the future, from the compact segment to the luxury mid-range. The Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron is a prototype of the final version of the seventh electric car Audi is launching by 2021.
