The Ministry of Economy, representing the UAE, is hosting, in cooperation with the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the first digital trade and economic exhibition between the People’s Republic of China and the United Arab Emirates, a platform designed to give a strong new impetus to trade and joint economic activities between the two countries, within the framework of consensus Visions and aspirations towards laying new foundations for economic ties, to take advantage of the opportunities for success presented by the digital age and its technologies.
Hala China, an initiative led by Dubai Holding, is organizing the week-long event from 15 to 21 July 2020, in cooperation with the China International Exhibition Center Group Company.
The exhibition will witness the interaction of leading companies from the UAE and China via the Internet, to explore new economic cooperation opportunities for institutions and companies, through a series of discussions with leaders of different sectors, and the virtual exhibition represents a smooth transition to digital platforms to keep pace with the future directions of the UAE, especially with the new structure of its government , Which reflects the extent of the state’s keenness to create all conditions to ensure the leadership position in the future.

Digital economy
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Holding, said: “The volume of bilateral trade between the UAE and China in 2020 witnessed some obstacles due to the current exceptional situation, whose consequences were affected by all sectors around the world, especially the economic ones, but the ties The profound shared between the two countries and their shared aspirations, and the great similarity in their ability to adapt to conditions by relying on innovation, are important pillars of partnership towards growth in the new world of digital economy, which we are moving to.
His Highness added, “The digital trade fair is a perfect example of this. The event will cause many new opportunities for trade and even cultural exchange between the two friendly countries to be discovered, as we enter the world and the stage of economic recovery.”
Official figures showed that trade between the two countries exceeded 184 billion dirhams (50 billion dollars) in 2019, an increase of 16% over 2018, with Emirati non-oil exports to China growing by 64% in the same period, with the UAE continuing to diversify its economy. Resolutely.

Bilateral relations

He added, “The UAE is the most important trading partner of China in the Arab world, as the UAE contributes 26% of the total volume of China’s non-oil foreign trade with the Arab countries, and with the establishment of this event, we express once again our commitment to consolidating relations between the two friendly countries.”

On his part, Li Xiuhang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, said: “The crisis can be turned into an opportunity. The first digital exhibition for trade and economy between China and the UAE will highlight how technology can be applied to create new forms of bilateral cooperation to deepen the relationship between the two countries. ».
The recently launched Digital Trade and Economy Fair seeks to become a platform for cooperation in many business areas and a platform to unleash new trends and ideas across different sectors, and is expected to bring together more than 100,000 people over its seven days – and has already received registration requests from more than 1,000 destinations Model and more than 3000 buyers.

Free exhibitor technologies
One of the main advantages available to exhibitors is the 3D illumination technology, which allows them to display their products on a digital platform in a new and innovative way in front of buyers and the public, where they will in turn be able to enlarge, reduce and rotate the displayed product by using any smart device to show the size of the product and its dimensions.
Product models will account for 10 to 15% of their original sizes, and this technology has been coded to prevent imitation, copying and reverse engineering, its use and its publication outside the exhibition.
