Al-Etihad Newspaper – Jordan: Flight returns are limited at the end of July


Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Al-Razzaz announced on Sunday that it was decided to return flights in a limited manner at the end of July.
He said in a speech addressed to citizens that “the procedures for opening the airport and flights will start at the end of this month in a limited manner for countries whose epidemiological situation is no more dangerous than Jordan.”
Al-Razzaz’s statements came after a prolonged ministerial meeting held by the government on Saturday, which included a deep review of Jordan’s experience with the Corona pandemic, and setting priorities for the work of the government during the coming period.
Al-Razzaz spoke, according to Jordanian media, about Jordan’s issuance of international bonds last week, and said that “for the first time, the size of the subscription and the size of the bond demand were more than six times the number that Jordan had put up for subscription, and the interest that Jordan received For the 5 and 10-year bonds were the lowest interest compared to countries similar to Jordan in the world except for the oil countries that have their oil wealth and their returns to ensure these returns.
Al-Razzaz revealed that the amount of one billion and 750 million dollars, which is the size of the bonds issued by Jordan, “will be allocated mainly to extinguish previous loans worth one billion and 250 million dollars and not for new loans accumulated on old loans, and to inject liquidity into the Jordanian market after there were arrears on the government, which was negatively reflected in Prior to the movement of the economy, as there will be payment of internal debts that will move liquidity in banking to benefit the private sector.
