In Geneva, a picture of the former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qassem Soleimani, in front of Tehran’s ambassador to the organization.
A video clip posted on “Twitter” showed Iranian representative Ismail Baqai Hamaneh, delivering a speech during the 44th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Thursday, while he was presented with a photo of Soleimani, before a security component removed it and the ambassador was speaking.
Soleimani and the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Commission in Iraq, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, were killed in a US air raid near Baghdad International Airport last January.
Two days ago, the United States strongly criticized a UN report that concluded that the killing of the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, General Qassem Soleimani, with a US strike in Baghdad, was “illegal”.
