The Italian Football Association, “Calcio”, announced in an official statement today, Friday, that 5 substitutions will be allowed during one game in the remainder of the league for this season.
In its statement, the association said: “The Italian Federation decided to allow a maximum of 5 substitutions for each team in the competitions scheduled until the end of the 2019-2020 season.”
Each team will be allowed to make the five substitutions within a maximum of 3 periods, in addition to the ability to switch between the two halves of the match, in order to prevent wasting time through the many stops.
Italian football competitions will start on the 12th of June, with the second leg semi-finals of the Italian Cup, while the “Calcio” will resume in the 20th of the same month.
Juventus are at the top of the ranking of “Calcio” with 63 points, and are one point away from runner-up Lazio, while Inter Milan are third behind with 54 points and have a game in hand.
