Fiorentina’s youth team winger, Christian Covey, explained why he refused to move to Liverpool two years ago, despite his approach to signing contracts.
Christian Covey starred with Fiorentina at the center of the pavilion, and he was close to moving to Liverpool two years ago, but he refused in the last moments when he was in Monaco, and chose to move to Italy.
“Everything was decided at the last minute, I was very moved after Liverpool’s interest, but I chose to move to Fiorentina,” Coffey said in comments to the international site “Goal”.
The 19-year-old added: “Liverpool is more than just a big club, and I was not prepared at the time to play for Liverpool, the timing was not good, and that is the truth.”
Covey plays alongside the former Liverpool Academy star, Bobby Duncan in Fiorentina Primavera (youth), after the latter also chose to move to Viola, in order to get minutes in the first team.
