The German automaker BMW revealed the renewal of the fifth-class saloon, combi touring and sixth-generation Gran Turismo through some design frills and equipped with 48-volt engines.

The new models come with expansions of equipment, new auxiliary systems and new multimedia functions, with a cloud-based navigation system and a digital cockpit.

One of the updates on car technologies is the dependency on the 48-volt mild-propulsion technology, on which all five- and six-cylinder engines are based.

This technology consists of an 8 kW / 11 hp electric motor with a Li-ion battery. This modern technology aims to boost acceleration and help reduce fuel consumption thanks to the braking energy recovery system.

New cars have a range of gasoline and diesel engines, covering a power range from 135 kW / 184 hp to 390 kW / 530 hp.

The saloon is available in Plug-in hybrid versions based on gasoline engines of 215 kW / 292 hp and 290 kW / 394 hp. These copies reach the walking range of 62 km.

The German company stated that the hybrid propulsion versions reach an average consumption of 1.9 liters / 100 km, while the average consumption of the hybrid versions ranges between 4.1 liters of diesel and 9.7 liters of gasoline / 100 km.

The price of the new saloon starts from 49 thousand and 100 euros, while the Colombian Touring model starts from 51 thousand and 300 euros, while the Gran Turismo of the sixth category starts from 62 thousand and 800 euros.
