In Mexico, health authorities recorded 1092 new deaths from the emerging coronavirus yesterday, the highest daily toll so far, while total infections exceeded 100,000.
The number of deaths is more than twice the previous record, and the number of daily injuries is also the largest, at 3,912.
This brings the total number of infections in Mexico to 101,238, and the death toll to 11,729. Health authorities had previously said the actual number of cases was greater than that reported.
