8.7% decrease in the index of the manufacturing and extractive industries during February

The index of the manufacturing and extractive industries (without crude oil and petroleum products) decreased to 113.10 during the month of February (preliminary), compared to 123.87 during the previous January (final) by 8.7%, according to the preliminary data released by the Central Agency for Mobilization and Statistics yesterday.
According to the data, the device has updated the index methodology using the base year 2012/2013, and at the level of indices of industrial activity and by using the monthly index of producer prices based on the 2012/2013 basis.
The record number for the pharmaceutical, chemical and pharmaceutical preparations industry reached 118.20 during February, compared to 113.80 in January, up 3.9% according to the market situation, and the record index for other non-metallic mineral products increased to 114.19 compared to 107.07, 6.6%.
The index of the ready-made garment industry decreased to 96.21 in February, compared to 105.63 in January, by 8.9%, and the index of the tobacco industry decreased to 191.57 compared to 200.59 by 4.5% due to seasonal production and market conditions.
