Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and following-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, the authority led the second relief convoy of the «Mir Al Ramadan »For the people of Al-Shehr district in the Yemeni Hadramaut Governorate, coinciding with the blessed month of Ramadan, with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the people of the district and improving their living conditions.
The relief convoy included 2000 food parcels weighing 85 tons, and 600 kilograms of foodstuffs and basic foodstuffs, targeting 10 thousand family members in need in the Al-Shahr district of Hadramout.
The conduct of these relief convoys coincides with the holy month, within the efforts of the UAE and its interest in all different occasions, in addition to launching a fasting breakfast campaign in the main streets, and distributing meals to needy families in their homes.
Hamid Rashid Al Shamsi, international aid adviser at the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, said that the management of this relief convoy comes within the directions of the wise leadership of the state, to provide the requirements for the holy month of Ramadan, and to deliver it to families in their homes, as part of precautionary measures to prevent gatherings and preserve the safety of Yemeni citizens.
Al Shamsi affirmed the Red Crescent’s keenness to continuously implement these humanitarian projects continuously, in order to reach the Yemeni citizens who need them in light of the conditions the country is going through.
The beneficiaries expressed their thanks to the UAE and its human arm, the Red Crescent Authority, for this generous human gesture in the blessed month of Ramadan. Wam
