Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun called on his citizens to adhere to quarantine for “a few additional days” in order to eradicate the Corona epidemic.
Taboun said in a speech delivered on Saturday on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr: “We would have liked to exchange congratulations on the feast and reach our wombs, had it not been for the unprecedented epidemic of our country and the whole world … However, the epidemic will not prevent us from adhering to the Sunnah of our Prophet in the joy of the coming of Eid.”
He added: “We will not forget those who left us without being able to complete the month of fasting of those affected by the epidemic in hospitals.”
He pointed out that he feels “the citizens’ concern for the future of their children and their work due to the continued quarantine,” calling them to “be patient with bearing the remaining precautionary measures on the two days of Eid.”
Taboon warned that “any negligence in respecting the quarantine procedures will cost the country other losses.”
