(Reuters) – A jacket of the late rock star Kurt Corbyn was sold at a record price of $ 334,000 last year .. Now it is estimated that the guitar instrument that two cups played with the Nirvana team on the MTV Anplagd program five months before his death It may be sold for a price of one million dollars at auction next month.

Auctions said on Monday that the guitar offered for sale was Martin D-18E, made in 1959, and played by two cups during the episode’s live recording in 1993. The guitar has a cover inside a small bag in which it is said that Cobain was hiding the heroin that he had addicted to in his last years.

The Nirvana star Cobain recorded the Unplugged episode in November 1993. He was found dead by a bullet that he fired at himself in his Seattle home in April 1994 and he was 27 years old.

The album of the Nirvana team, which includes a recording of the episode (MTV Unplugged in New York), was released after Cobbin’s death and won a Grammy award.

Darren Julian, CEO of Auctioneers, said that the guitar “deservedly descended in history as the instrument played by one of the most influential rock music icons in one of the most memorable live performance experiences”.

He added that the million dollar is only a preliminary estimate. The record price for a guitar is David Gilmore, a member of the Pink Floyd team, which sold for $ 3.9 million at an auction in New York.

Other Cuban holdings will be sold at the auction, scheduled for June 19 and 20 in Beverly Hills, including another guitar whose price ranges between $ 60 and $ 80,000, and a shirt estimated to cost between $ 10,000 and $ 20,000.
