The subsidiary brand Nubia of ZTE launched the Nubia Red Magic 5G earlier this year, and it arrived with the first screen that has a refresh rate of 144Hz in the world. However, the phone’s user interface provides the ability to switch between only three modes, which are 60Hz, 90Hz, and 144Hz, which means that there is no 120Hz mode.
Now developers at XDA Developers forum discovered that this option is available, but it is hidden, and can be found using an app like Activity Launcher that allows you to create shortcuts for different Android operations. Other hidden features include more screen color modes, round icons by theme, and screen recording quality change.
Theme shows all pre-installed themes and other themes that bring round icons. As for the screen recording feature, it allows you to record the screen in regular SD resolution in order to save space in the phone’s storage memory, but if you want to get better quality, you can raise the resolution to HD to become a default option. As for the available color modes, they are three and include Normal, Natural and Colorful, but the hidden menu provides eight other options to choose from.
As of yet, we still don’t know whether the sub-brand Nubia decided to hide these options because they are not necessary or because they are not working as expected. What we do know is that these features make the Nubia Red Magic 5G which costs $ 579 USD more attractive.
