No return of employees before 2021

The majority of employees on Google and Facebook will continue to work from their homes until the end of this year, although the two groups will reopen their offices during the summer, according to the evolution of the spread of the “Covid 19” epidemic. In this context, Sundar Bishay, chairman of Alphabet (which employs more than 100,000 people in the world), Google’s parent company, told his employees that they would likely work from their home until the end of the year.
Bishay addressed the employees, last Thursday, during a weekly general assembly via the Internet, explaining that people who need to return to the office can do so in the coming June or July with the implementation of safety measures.
This comes after the company had made clear in April that the remote work will continue until the first of June 2020, at the very least, and that the return will be “in stages”.
Meanwhile, US media reported that Facebook is adopting the same approach. The global social media network intends to reopen its offices from July 6, but all employees wishing to do so can continue working from their homes until 2021.
Note that Facebook Chairman Mark Zuckerberg announced last month that his company would not organize any gatherings of more than fifty people before July 2021 at the earliest.
