Today, (Monday), the Supervision and Anti-Corruption Commission started 3 corruption cases in which those involved took advantage of the support provided by the state to tackle the pandemic of the emerging Coronavirus (Covid 19).
In a statement, the commission stated that these cases come within (117) financial and administrative corruption cases that were initiated by the authority during the holy month of Ramadan for this year 1441 AH.
The first issue:
– Two employees of a security guard company exploit the state support for private sector companies and employees – affected by the Corona pandemic – and bear (60%) of their salaries, where they subscribe to a number of the company’s employees in the “Sand” system and enter data contrary to the truth in exchange for them On (50%) of the support provided to each employee, and the company’s continued payment of their salaries in full, and they were investigated and work is underway to refer them to the competent court to decide what to do with them.
The second issue:
– One of the Ministry of Tourism employees violated his job duties and started obtaining financial amounts (bribes) in partnership with 13 people in exchange for following the procedures for awarding contracts for the lease of a number of hotels in Jeddah Governorate that the state is renting to provide housing service for citizens returning from abroad to spend the quarantine period, and has They were investigated and their referral is underway to the competent court to decide what to do against them.
The third issue:
– Three workers in the private sector were involved in offering bribes to some employees of the Ministry of Health to violate their job duties in contracts for the ministry to rent hotels to provide quarantine headquarters, and they were caught and investigated, and work is underway to refer them to the competent court to decide what should be against them.
