The new MediaTek Dimensity 820 processor aims to be the beating heart of upcoming 5G mid phones in the second half of this year as it houses a built-in 5G modem and is a cheap alternative to the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 + announced recently by MediaTek.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 820 processor includes four Cortex-A76 cores at 2.6GHz and four other Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Moreover, it supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and houses the Mali-G57 graphics processor that will provide smartphones using this processor with 120Hz refresh rate support, although the supported resolution is still within FullHD + limits.
MediaTek, in its new MediaTek Dimensity 820 processor, supports connecting two SIM cards to 5G networks. In terms of performance, MediaTek revealed to us that its new processor outperforms Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor in all respects.
Before concluding, we would like to point out that Xiaomi will be the first to use the new MediaTek Dimensity 820 processor, but it remains to be seen whether it will use this processor in the Redmi K30i phone or in the Redmi Note 10 phone.
