Hyundai explained that the new i20 N sports model is inspired by the i20 WRC, in which the Korean company entered the World Rally Championship, but it will not depend on the all-wheel drive system.
The i20 N sports model, which is based on a 147 kW / 200 hp engine, is scheduled to be put on the market by the end of this year, sparking competition with Volkswagen Polo GTI and Ford Fiesta ST.
Motor News, the auto news website, posted on Thursday the promotional video of the top-class N-label, which appeared while driving on the frozen Arjeplog lake in Sweden.
The American website said that Hyundai is racing to launch the new i20 N, as it will compete with the Ford Fiesta ST, which has sporting capabilities.
Prior to the i20 N, Hyundai lacked a hatchback sports car, and through the new promotional video, the i20 N featured a modified racing design, with additional front headlights for night driving and a reinforced exterior.
