Millions of Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid Al Fitr this year in light of the Corona epidemic, which has prevented prayers in mosques or open worshipers in most countries in response to precautionary measures.

Most Islamic countries have declared that Sunday is the start of the month of Shawwal, the day of Eid Al Fitr. All Arab countries met to declare Sunday on Eid al-Fitr, with the exception of Mauritania and Somalia, which celebrated the holiday yesterday, Saturday.

In Iraq, the Shiite authority announced that the feast will be held on Monday, while the Iraqi Fiqh Council, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and the Shiite authority, Muhammad al-Khalisi, announced that the holiday begins on Sunday.

Prayers at home
And through social networks, many Muslims are called upon to perform Eid prayers at home after they circulate fatwas saying that it is permissible to perform Eid prayers at home with the family for those who want to pray them.

The pioneers of the communication sites published pictures of Eid prayers with their families inside the homes and the celebration manifested by the conditions of the spread of the epidemic.

Strict measures
During the Eid holiday, several countries have tightened the measures in place to combat the outbreak of the new Corona virus, after lax compliance with restrictions in some countries during the month of Ramadan led to a rise in infection rates.

Saudi Arabia imposed a curfew for a full period of five days from Saturday, and has recorded a marked increase since the beginning of the month of Ramadan, bringing the total number in the Kingdom to 68 thousand people.

East Asia
The Associated Press monitored the exceptional atmosphere of this holiday in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country, and it is the worst affected by the epidemic of Corona in Southeast Asia, where it recorded about 22 thousand injuries, and 1,350 deaths.

“The epidemic not only caused a coldness in the holiday atmosphere, but also made its traditions completely different,” said Andika Rabbani, a university student in Jakarta.

However, the Eid prayer was held in open chapels in some areas in Indonesia, including the Aceh region, taking into account the rules of social separation and shortening the time of engagement.
