Okaz quoted private sources as saying, “Hariri met the political aide of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, Hussein Khalil, at a breakfast table in the presence of his adviser, Ghattas Khoury.”

The sources said that a former Lebanese prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the holding of this meeting, especially since Hariri did not inform the former heads of government about this meeting during the meeting that gathered them in the center house, and the prime minister mentioned heading to boycott the meeting of former heads of government.

On the other hand, a statement issued by the Hariri office said, “This alleged meeting did not take place, and the days will reveal nothing but the imagination of those who release such news.”

In turn, the Hariri adviser, former minister, Ghattas Khoury, denied on Twitter, that he was in charge of any communications between Hariri and Hezbollah, and he republished the news of Okaz newspaper commenting, “I did not participate in any alleged breakfast! I am not charged with any communications with Hezbollah.” Before the publication, it was sufficient for you to avoid publishing false information. ”

Al-Hariri, who also holds Saudi nationality, announced on November 4, 2017 his resignation from the presidency of the Government of Lebanon while he was in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he is believed to have been held there within the Saudi campaign of arrests that touched princes and senior officials, launched by Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Salman. Days later, Saad Hariri headed to Paris with an effort by French President Emmanuel Macron, who said at the time that his country’s diplomacy was credited with resolving that crisis, confirming for the first time that Saudi Arabia had already detained Hariri.
