Central – Ronnie reveals the secret of Pique’s expulsion from Manchester United

Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has revealed why Spanish defender Gerard Pique has left the “Red Devils” castle to join Barcelona.

In an article published in the “Sunday Times” newspaper, Rooney explained that Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United training legend, decided to get rid of Pique “after his poor performance against Bolton”, in the 2007-2008 season.

Piqué, who was a Barcelona junior, joined Manchester United in 2004 and stayed with him for 4 seasons, including a one-year loan loan to Real Zaragoza.

Rooney said in his article, Pique “was subjected to harassment and bullying” during the match that brought together Manchester United with Bolton, which caused him to perform poorly, before the match ended with Bolton’s victory with a clean goal.

The “Golden Boy” explained that Sir Ferguson later expressed his “regret” over his insistence that the young Spanish defender, who was 21 years old at the time, leave.

And he added, “Pique was a young player and was harassed, and I think that then he decided that Fergie was not suitable for playing in the English Premier League.”

Pique returned to the Catalan team in 2008, and there he succeeded in revenge against his old team after he twice won the Champions League at the expense of the “Red Devils”, in 2009 and 2011.
