Britain has given Abbott Laboratories the green light to manufacture a Covid-19 antibody test shortly after it gave the same approval to Swiss drug company Roche Holding, health officials said Friday.
Many countries are considering collective antibody testing using millions of devices as a way to accelerate the reopening of economies severely affected by public isolation measures as well as to develop more socially appropriate spacing measures.
On the other hand, a spokesman for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today that Britain may reduce the general isolation measures it imposed to limit the spread of the Corona virus at a different rate in certain regions.
“It may lead to the easing of some measures at a different pace in different regions of the country, and at the same time it may lead to the reimposition of some measures in some parts of the country, but not others.”
He continued, “I am not aware of any plans at the moment to implement this regarding schools.”
