The display of a picture of the childhood of the Syrian regime President Bashar Al-Assad in a Kuwaiti operetta, titled “Into It,” as a picture of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in his childhood, caused a great controversy in social media.

The operatives, as well as the Kuwaiti Minister of Information Mohammed Al-Jabri, were subjected to widespread criticism on Twitter. Singer Hamad, grandson of Hamad, wrote: “An opera is intended for her, which was shown on Kuwait TV, portraying Bashar al-Assad’s image at the beginning of the video as Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad in his childhood, Minister of Information Kamel Nomtek.”

As the tweeter Nasser Al-Mutairi asked a question in which he said: “Those working on an opera have a relationship with Bashar Al-Assad, who is a child at the beginning of the video? The opera is not supposed to be a Kuwaiti national work?”

Lawyer Dari Al-Shammari went away to question the goals of the producers and supervisors of the work, where he said: “An operetta has intended for it, presumably it is patriotic. According to the words of the singers, it is a loving message. Imagine the image of the criminal, Bashar Al-Assad Abu Baramil, exploding on the heads of children! Imagine? The year on the work of Anwar Al-Mashiri of the United Arab Emirates!

Meanwhile, journalist Saud Al-Husseini said that placing a picture of “the criminal Bashar Al-Assad represents a Kuwaiti media scandal.”

The supervisor of the Emirati work, Anwar Al-Mishiri, apologized, saying that what happened was a mistake in the montage process, and that the work was deleted from YouTube and replaced with another after the amendment and the removal of Bashar Al-Assad’s photo.

The operetta, funded by Kuwaiti businessman Louay Al-Kharafi, led by the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, sings in the face of the Corona virus, and he sings a number of Kuwaiti and Arab singers, including Hussein Al Jasmi, Rashid Al Majid, Nawal Al Kuwaiti, Balqees Fathi, Asala Nasri, and music. Fahad Al-Nasser and directed by Ahmed Yaqoub.
