After Germany banned all activities of Hezbollah and classified it as a terrorist organization, the local government of Berlin on Saturday canceled a march organized by the Iranian embassy annually, the end of Ramadan.

The march, dubbed the “Jerusalem march,” is usually attended by Hezbollah supporters, raising their slogans, and shouting pro-Iranian and anti-Semitic slogans.

This demonstration causes great controversy in Germany every year and calls are being made to prevent it.

The move came to confirm the entry into force of the German decision to prevent any activities of the party or its supporters in the country. On Thursday, the German Ministry of the Interior announced that it had banned all Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia on its soil and designated it a terrorist organization.

The police also carried out raids early in the morning to arrest people suspected of being members of the Lebanese militia.

“The Interior Minister Horst Seehofer banned the Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah in Germany,” a ministry spokesman said.

It is noteworthy that security officials believe that up to 1050 people in Germany are members of Hezbollah.
