A missile landed Monday night to Tuesday in the vicinity of the US embassy in the heavily fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad, according to security sources.
The security media cell statement said that a Katyusha rocket landed on an empty house inside the Green Zone in Baghdad, and information indicates that this missile was launched from Al-Idrisi neighborhood in Palestine Street, and that it resulted in minor damage to the wall of the house.
This new attack against US interests is the 28th of its kind in seven months in a country where a government has been formed for nearly two weeks and has been described as capable of improving relations with Washington and easing tensions between the United States and Iran in Iraq.
The sirens sounded in the vicinity of the embassy, according to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath.
